Cluster of small earthquakes hits Mammoth Lakes area

Several small earthquakes hit the Mammoth Lakes area Thursday morning, but there were no reports of damage of injury.

The strongest of the temblors registered magnitude 3.8 and occurred at 4:40 a.m. near Toms Place, which is south of Mammoth Lakes along Highway 395.

That quake was followed by more than a dozen smaller aftershocks.
