Wow
This is crazy. I assume Denver people are not stupid and know that the airport ALREADY is surrounded by controversy. Choosing the Egyptian God of the Dead & Funerals is blatant idiocy. Wow.

Candy cane?
something out of place here, I am unsure of the relevence if any, but things are always done for a reason so i naturally want to know it. Acandy cane in this dark figurines hand that I can't explain in any general terms, Is their a carnival going on perhaps? maybe its a sweet shops advertisment and i can't see the close up of the shops name? Tosh! So, its too big a candy cane and would have to be built somwhere spiecally? I can only speculate on the choosing of this object over all over concievable objects that could have been placed there instead, a candy cane! Well, the red and white spirals are the same sort hairdressers used to use and some traditional ones still do, on poles at the entrence to their shops. On the barbers pole the red stripes represent the blood and the white ones the bandages, the glib knots at either end are symbols of the basin, where the blood, or lather was caught. This candy cane however does not have glib knots but a curled handle; I percieve it as this. The Length of the Red and White Candy cane represents the population of Earth (perhaps animals as well as humans?) The long straight part being the population of whom blood will pour and die out, the short straight part as the people who will overcome, the curve at the top represents the high ground to obtain?? I don't know what to think to be honest but i have always made sense of all around me, a very rational being, well, so i thought!! Please comment on this throw some more info my way, Good luck and my love to humanity xPEACEx

something deeper ?
Well im stepping out on a limb here but when I look at this statue, not only do I see Anubis the god of death holding a piece of candy. I see him holding what looks like a red spiral like object. Hmmmm ring any bells, consider that in Lucas's video interview that the ancients associated the destroyer with spirals and to add to this its colored red. As i said im not sure if this is relevant but it was the first thing i thought of when i saw this.

pt 1
to me the candy cane is reminiscient of the 'crozier' or -

The crozier is the shepherd's staff used by Auxiliary Bishops, Bishops, and Archbishops. The crozier has always been in the Church a symbol of their pastoral role. In the very early Church, it was made of wood, but in the early Middle Ages metal (silver and gold, depending on rank) was used instead. The staff used shall have a simple cross on top.

Not a "candy cane"
The object in the statue's left hand is a staff. I believe it is actually a cobra? Egyptians worshiped the cobra in ancient times.
