After almost 30 years of creating endless funds, running scam on top of scam on top of scam, the system finally could not handle any more layers of scam. On October 3rd is when the major fall of the crash started and it would not stop falling until the spring of 2009. The numbers actually started to slowly drop after the October 12th, 2007 high of 14,093. When the crash finished on March 6th, 2009 with a closing total of 6629, the DOW had lost more than 60% of it's value or a total of 7464 points.
